Dear San Gabriel Rivers Estates Homeowners,

We’re pleased to announce a recent update to the Board of Directors. Due to a recent resignation, the Board has unanimously appointed Rhonda McPherson, the only nomination received from the recent Board Candidate Solicitation, to fill the vacant seat to serve alongside Ken Lancaster and Bob Hopkins.

Texas Property Code Title 11, Chapter 209, Section 209.00593 allows for an HOA board to appoint a new board member to a position that has been vacated to serve out the remainder of the unexpired term of the position in lieu of a formal election.

The Board chose to exercise the option to appoint due to the specific circumstances involved with this vacancy, such as having one (and only one) candidate who was interested in serving, and consideration of the time and cost required to conduct an election which, because the number of candidates does not exceed the number of open board positions, would be based on a vote of acclamation.

Rhonda's willingness to serve and her dedication to our community are deeply appreciated. Her appointment ensures continued leadership and collaboration as we work together to support the vision and values of San Gabriel Rivers Estates.
